Bandai Namco has just revealed Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, a brand-new entry in the popular puzzle-horror series. It’s a surprising announcement, given we only just got Little Nightmares 3 a few months ago, and this one looks to represent a pretty big shift in perspective as a VR-only title launching for PlayStation VR, Meta Quest and Steam VR on April 24, 2026.
Little Nightmares in VR sounds like a delightfully terrifying experience, and if the reveal trailer is anything to go by I’m cautiously optimistic that the studio at Iconik understands how to transpose the 2.5D stealth-puzzle scares of the mainline games to something immersively first-person.
Altered Echoes promises to connect to Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares 2, and you can see that in the trailer with the return of the Teacher, one of my favourite Little Nightmares enemies. But there’s also new stuff, like a train station area with a freaky Conductor. It’ll be interesting to see how the typical puzzle solving stuff works in VR, but it’s generally a pretty good medium for tactile and interactive brain teasers – being stalked by your future paralysis demons aside.

From the developer:
“Dark Six is on a haunting journey to recover what was lost, herself. Only by reuniting with her other self can she escape a monstrous fate.
“For the first time, experience the disturbing universe of Little Nightmares in first person, through your own eyes, in VR. Every sight, sound and shadow becomes part of your reality, drawing you deeper into a twisted world where nightmare and truth blur. Each interaction with your surroundings reveals intricate puzzles, hidden paths, and secrets buried in darkness.”
