Rockstar Games has announced that our next official look at Grand Theft Auto VI will happen towards the end of this month, at 5AM AEST,August 28 to be precise.
Billed as an “extended look” at the game, it’ll be our first new trailer-type activity since the official Trailer 2 dropped way back in May 2025. And to match the occasion, Rockstar is going all-out and premiering the new look on Netflix, of all places.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere exclusively on Netflix at this time, and then appear on Rockstar Games’ own channels (YouTube and the GTA 6 website) a full six hours later at 11AM AEST, August 28.

Presumably, this will be our first actual vision of gameplay from the game, which launches on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and given the lengths that Rockstar is going to bring this one to a full-on streaming platform with some exclusivity, it’s easy to assume it’ll be a long and detailed event.
In a statement shared online, VP of nonfiction series at Netflix, Brandon Riegg, has said:
“Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto VI is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first.
“It’s a reflection of what we hope Netflix is becoming – a place where the most ambitious storytelling, from any medium, can find the biggest possible audience.”
For now, the description on the official Netflix page for Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look simply reads, “See an extended look at “Grand Theft Auto VI”, the next evolution in the groundbreaking “Grand Theft Auto” series.”
