Bandai Namco has dropped a major tease for a mysterious new RPG title being announced later this week.
So far, all we have to go off of is the below video posted to social media, which shows some overgrown ruins and an anime-esque character with a red shield on their back:
Bandai Namco publishes a few series that could fit this bill, with the Tales of… franchise likely being the one folks would be most interested in. The last game in that series was 2021’s Tales of Arise, so it’s been long enough between entries. There’s also every chance this is a new game based on something like Sword Art Online, which Bandai Namco has published and developed games for in the past, and which does feature towers that look similar to the one seen in the background of this teaser.
There’s also something going on with the “L” in that “NEW RPG REVEAL” header that seems suspicious. Given the setup and attempt to build anticipation at the announcement, we’d have to expect that this is an announcement for something fairly substantial.
