Content Warning has suddenly arrived on PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox

Content Warning, the co-op horror game that asks players to seek out spooky, deadly phenomena in the depths of the horrifying Old World, and then film it for maximum virality, has finally arrived on consoles.

We knew it was coming, but the game has dropped pretty much out of nowhere, landing right now on PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S after having enjoyed viral success on PC in 2024.

Having played a bunch of it at launch, there’s the simple but chaotic quality here that tends to define the games we’ve come to call “friendslop,” but I’m a big fan of this game in particular, if for nothing else than the post-round ritual of getting together with your friends on the in-game couch and watching back your YouTube-worthy recording from the delve.

While the tight-knit development team and publisher, Landfall, haven’t opted to repeat their strategy of releasing the game for free for its first 24 hours, something that led the game to then sell in the millions right after, it’s coming in at very agreeable prices on these new platforms.

Get famous or die trying! Content Warning is a co-op horror game where you film spooky stuff with your friends to try and go viral.

Step One: Go Down to the Old World
Squad up, customize your face with the ASCII face customizer, buy some gear and use the diving bell to go down to the Old World!

Down there you’ll encounter scary physics-animated monsters, cursed relics and other artefacts!

Step Two: Film something scary
Film as many scary things as possible before you run out of oxygen, or friends…

Step Three: Upload to SpöökTube
If you survive, you need to get back in the diving bell to transport you and the remaining members of your team to the surface.

Upload your chaotic footage to SpöökTube, settle in for a watch party, and wait for the views to tick up!

And… Profit!!
Every run goes on for 3 days, the more scary stuff you film, the more you go viral. The ad revenue from your SpöökTube videos enables you to upgrade your gear to film better videos and survive more easily in the Old World.

If your team accumulates enough views in three days – you get to keep going with your SpöökTube Career and live a life of fame and fortune!
