Everything announced at the February 2026 PlayStation State of Play

The first PlayStation State of Play has arrived, and this February 2026 edition came packed with announcements and updates for PlayStation games across both first-party and third-party.

Headline reveals include some whoppers, like the unveiling of a full remake of the original God of War trilogy, along with a shadow-dropped new metroidvania prequel spinoff, along with some pretty exciting premiere game announcements!

You can watch the showcase in its entirety on the official PlayStation YouTube channel here, but for those short on time, let’s take a look at everything that was revealed during the State of Play:

God of War Trilogy Remake teaser trailer

Starting at the end with one half of the February 2026 State of Play’s big “one more thing,” original Kratos voice actor, TC Carson, introduces the God of War trilogy remake. It’s apparently still very early days in development for this one, hence the short teaser and little other info, but the prospect of the Greek saga retold in the modern God of War style is certainly enticing:

God of War Sons of Sparta reveal trailer

But wait, there’s more! God of War Sons of Sparta was also revealed during the show, and then subsequently dropped straight onto the PlayStation Store! You can read our review of the game right here, but it’s essentially a 2D metroidvania adventure that tells a standalone story set during Kratos’ youth as a young Spartan warrior. You can pick the game up right here, right now.

Ghost of Yōtei Legends release date

Following up the excellent multiplayer offering from Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei Legends finally has a launch date and it’s not far off at all. Launching on March 10, 2026, this free add-on for owners of the full game will once again ask players to cooperate as they fight off enemies across distinct maps. The main mission mode will feature supernatural versions of some of the Yōtei Six from the main game, with the others coming as part of a Raid update in April.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora reveal trailer

After the success of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Ember Lab is back again with a massive sequel. Players will once again take on the role of Kena, older and more capable, as she explores a mysterious new land with evolved gameplay and plenty of the beauty and wonder that made the original game special. Kena: Scars of Kosmora launches later year on PS5 and PC.

Untitled John Wick game reveal trailer

Another big surprise! A new official John Wick game is coming to PS5, and although we don’t know the final title or release date just yet, we do know it’s being developed by Saber Interactive in conjunction with the creators of the films and will cover a never-before-seen chapter for the titular character portrayed by Keanu Reeves. Expect intense gun-fu combat, hectic driving sequences and killer camera work.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 reveal trailer

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is finally breaking free of its PS3 prison, co-headlining the second collection of legacy series titles along with the excellent Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Launching on August 27, 2026, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 brings together both of these games as well as Metal Gear: Ghost Babel from the Game Boy Colour, making this a pretty compelling collection for fans.

Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition surprise release

Another near-immediate drop from this State of Play, Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition celebrates the original Rayman with a collection of multiple versions of the game as it appeared across multiple platforms. From the masters of classical collections, Digital Eclipse, this package also features interactive documentary content, bonus levels, enhanced gameplay features and a newly-reimagined soundtrack from Rayman Legends composer, Christophe Héral. You can get it on the PlayStation Store right here.

Silent Hill: Townfall full reveal

We’ve been waiting to see more from Annapurna and Screen Burn Interactive’s take on the long-running horror franchise, Silent Hill: Townfall, for a few years now, and this first proper look at the game shows that it’s shaping up to be something quite exciting. This one switches things to a first-person perspective and hands its main character, Simon, a handheld CRTV for a spooky detection device as he explores the Scottish town of St. Amelia. No release date yet, but you can wishlist it on the PlayStation Store right here.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse reveal trailer

Continuing on the theme of handing exciting studios the keys to a storied franchise, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is set to bring classic 2D Castlevania gameplay back to the fore, filtered through the hands of Evil Empire and Motion Twin, of Dead Cells and Rogue Prince of Persia fame. It’s got a killer look, and it’s coming sometime later in 2026.

Beast of Reincarnation release date

We’ve finally got a release date for Game Freak’s next exciting non-Pokémon project, Beast of Reincarnation. Coming on August 4, 2026, this gorgeous-looking action RPG sees players navigate a devastated, far-future Japan alongside their furry companion and tackle uniquely fearsome foes.

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round and new Dead or Alive project reveal trailers

Surprise! Dead or Alive is bouncing back into the fighting game arena with not one, but two heaving new titles. First, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round revives the 2019 main entry with a bolstered roster, new content and a visual upgrade for modern hardware. It’s launching on June 25, 2026.

Then, a brand-new Dead or Alive game is also in the works, yet to be given an official title or release window but so far confirmed to feature mainstays Kasumi and Ryu as well as an updated visual identity.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PC reveal trailer

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is one of my favourite games of 2025 (and this generation, to be honest), and it’s finally making its way to PC players very soon on March 19, 2026. Expect all the usual PC trimmings like ultrawide resolutions, unlocked framerates and the full suite of upscaling/framegen support, plus some brand-new modes and features that will also come to PS5 players in an update on the same day!

Neva: Prologue reveal trailer

The beautiful Neva from Nomada Studio and Devolver Digital is getting a prequel DLC, telling the story of Alba and Neva’s first meeting. It’s out shortly on February 19, 2026.

Project Windless reveal trailer

Inspired by the Korean novel series The Bird That Drinks Tears, this has to be one of the wildest trailers shown during the State of Play, featuring the kind of open-world dark fantasy action RPG stuff that’s increasingly popular in modern videogames but with a twist – it stars a yo(l)ked rooster. Sign me up.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer gameplay trailer

Here’s a first look at gameplay from the hugely-anticipated Star Wars: Galactic Racer. It’s giving WipeOut meets Motorstorm and, despite not personally being a huge Star Wars person, I’m totally here for that combo.

Saros gameplay overview

Easily one of my most anticipated games right now, Saros has a big job following up the fantastic Returnal, but if anyone can do it, it’s Housemarque (and Rahul Kohli). This new trailer gives us a look at some of the ways the game sets itself apart from its spiritual predecessor, including a sprawling central hub home to other characters, a flexible permanent progression system, fast travel to previously reached biomes and neat difficulty modifiers. I’m keen to experience the Eclipse, which distorts the world in unique ways to make survival on Carcosa even more challenging.

Saros launches on April 30, 2026 and you can pre-order the game digitally here.

Rev.NOIR teaser trailer

Konami brought its A-game to this State of Play, accompanying the likes of Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill with a brand-new RPG title. Rev.NOIR looks, well, like a modern anime-inspired RPG, but here’s hoping it’s bringing something new and special to the concept. Although just seeing a brand-new IP from Konami in 2026 is plenty special. There’s not much to go off outside of this teaser trailer, but you can already wishlist the game right here.

Resident Evil Requiem Trailer #4

It wouldn’t be a videogame showcase without a new Resident Evil Requiem trailer at this point, so here’s the fourth major promo for the game so far. It’s hardly a complain when the game looks this good, but we’re so close now to the February 27, 2026 release date that it might be time to stop watching these and keep your suspense for the full thing.

Pragmata World Trailer

Same goes here, to be honest, although this new look at Capcom’s upcoming hack-em-up, Pragmata, offers a much better glimpse than ever before into its world. Like Resident Evil, this is one I’ve played in previews a couple of times over the last few months, and like that game I get more and more excited to see what’s truly cooking in the final release. Not long, now, for the April 24, 2026 launch.

Big Walk PlayStation announcement trailer

As a Melbournite, there’s nothing cooler than seeing a game developed right here in Australia get featured in a huge showcase like this, and if there’s one game I’d expect to see pull it off, it’s Big Walk. Developer House House is responsible for the hugely-successful and beloved Untitled Goose Game, but Big Walk is a radical departure from that with a cooperative multiplayer exploration game packed with puzzles, gizmos, secrets and friendship.

No release date yet, but the State of Play feature confirms that Big Walk will launch as part of the PlayStation Plus monthly games roster!

Mina the Hollower demo release

Mina the Hollower is the next retro-flavoured banger from Yacht Games, makers of Shovel Knight, and this State of Play spot reveals that a limited-time demo for the game is available right now on PS5. Try it out here!

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Unbreakable X-Men trailer

Look, I’m not a fighting game guy, but the few (slightly embarassing) bouts I played at Tokyo Game Show 2025 proved that I may need to change that. Slick, gorgeous and surprisingly approachable, this is really shaping up. The State of Play trailer revealed the Unbreakable X-Men joining the roster, including Wolverine, Magik, Danger and Storm.

Marathon launch gameplay trailer

PlayStation’s next big bet on the live-service market, Marathon, drops shortly on March 5, 2026 after a bit of a turbulent delay. A “Server Slam” for the game kicks off on February 26 to stress test Marathon’s network services and give eager players an early taste of the action.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered reveal trailer

More than just another in a recent string of Legacy of Kain re-releases and remasters, this one also comes with a playable demo of the cancelled sequel to Legacy of Kain: Defiance, titled Dark Prophecy. That is, as long as you pick up the Deluxe Edition. Game preservation comes with a steep price, I guess?

Crimson Moon reveal trailer

This gothic action-RPG looks like it has all the right ingredients to satisfy fans of brutal and balletic combat rewarding skilled play and mastery of its systems. If that’s you, and you’ve got a like-minded friend to hand, this might be one to keep an eye on.

Darwin’s Paradox release date and demo

I’ve been keen for Darwin’s Paradox since it was first revealed a State of Play last year, and it’s back for a second serving with a surprise Metal Gear Solid twist that leads into a free, playable demo you can check out right now. Seriously, do not sleep on whatever the hell is going on here. April 2, 2026 isn’t far off!

Control Resonant gameplay trailer

I’m gonna be real here, folks. I absolutely adore Control but I don’t know how to feel about its follow up just yet. It’s great to see Remedy go in such a different direction, and it looks fun as hell, but The Oldest House was such a great setting for how effectively it messed with reality and mundanity. Control Resonant looks like it’s 100% weird, 1000% of the time, and I guess that’s just something I’ll have to learn to love on its own merits. There’s also plenty more we’re yet to see, of course, so I’m still very keen for this to drop later in the year.

Brigandine Abyss teaser trailer

Although I’ll cop to having never played a Brigandine game before, this series has a long history with the first title launching back in 1998 on the original PlayStation. Brigandine Abyss looks like it’ll have exactly the blend of brain-flexing strategy and anime nonsense that’ll please a lot of folks.

4:Loop gameplay deep dive

Putting aside the awful name for a second, 4:Loop comes from the J. J. Abrams-led Bad Robot Games and seems to be trying to carve out a unique identity among its peers in roguelike, co-op shooters with a cool Probability Map run system and some wild-looking encounters. You can sign up to be considered for playtests of the game right here.

007 First Light story trailer

IO Interactive’s stab at a spectacle-filled 007 game complete with a wholly original story is headed our way quite soon on May 27, 2026, and this new Story Trailer gives us our best look yet at how this young Bond is recruited into MI6 and sets up a few key relationships we’ll see develop over the course of the game.

Yakoh Shinobi Ops reveal trailer

You tell me the original studio behind Tenchu is doing stuff – I listen. Allegedly* named after that one Animaniac, Yakoh Shinobi Ops brings the stealthy ninja action to an isometric point-of-view with four players all working together in the darkness. Also, something called The Pursuer is stalking you relentlessly as you play and cannot be killed. Yay!

*I made this up
