Ghost of Yōtei is getting a story expansion on October 2 alongside a roguelike survival mode and Complete Edition

PlayStation and Sucker Punch have revealed a host of new Ghost of Yōtei content arriving October 2, 2026 (AEST), including a new paid story expansion and a combat-focused “roguelike” survival mode – both of which will come as part of a Complete Edition of the game on the same day.

Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara is a brand-new story DLC for the game, which introduces a new character in Atsu’s story and will see players’ time split between present-day in Ezo and flashback sequences set on the mainland. Beyond deepening Atsu’s story, it’ll also include new gear and cosmetics for players to find, as well as new enemies to contend with.

Meanwhile, Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted seemingly walks in the footsteps of other PlayStation first-party titles in adding rogue-ish bonus modes. The trailer shows off Atsu, Oyuki and newcomer Nagato as playable characters.

For those who already own the game, these add-ons will be available as part of a digital Complete Edition Upgrade, or for those yet to pick up Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition of the game will be available October 2 that includes the base experience and everything else to date. That’ll also come along with some brand-new cosmetics, photo mode features and other bits.

Exisiting players who don’t feel like spending extra money will still be looked after, with a free update adding new quality-of-life and accessibility features as well as the “Beauty of Yōtei” mode which turns the game’s stunning environments into a real-time screensaver.

How much will the Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition and Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition Upgrade cost in Australia?

PlayStation Australia has confirmed that Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition will retail for $124.95 AUD, and the upgrade for existing owners of the base game will be $22.95. Those who pre-purchase the upgrade will also receive an early unlock of the Sakai Armor inspired by Ghost of Tsushima, on October 2.
