People of Note’s end credits are a musical tribute to its development team

People of Note is a fantastic game, that much you can hopefully glean from my review, where I scored it a huge 4.5/5 stars. But it’s also particularly *ahem* noteworthy for one other, important reason – its end credits are a live action music video starring the game director, recording engineer and composers.

It is easily one of the coolest closers to a game since Portal did its iconic “Still Alive” bit.

Armed with a microphone, keyboard, guitar and drums, the quartet of game devs rocks out in praise of People of Note’s cast and crew, taking the time to call out things like voice work, modelling, lighting, even mesh deformation as part of the creative process. At one point, the band remembers to thank publisher, Annapurna Interactive, and then hilariously begins to question what a publisher even does… before affirming that it doesn’t matter because their paychecks continued to clear. Brilliant.

I love this bit so much, not just because of how heartening it is to see a game’s creators thank each other and themselves so emphatically at a time where things feel so bleak in the space, but because of how incredibly on-theme the whole thing is against the rest of the game. People of Note is a fantastic blend of turn-based RPG and musical game, but it’s also a really great parable about not just recognising and respecting what makes different cultures and subcultures unique, but also the importance and power in lifting up voices other than our own.

I’d really recommend picking the game up and playing it for yourself, if for nothing else than to reach this superb conclusion, but if you don’t mind fast-forwarding a little – I promise it’s not technically going to spoil anything – you can just watch the full thing below:

People of Note is available now for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC. Learn more here.
