Razer Viper V4 Pro

Razer has revealed the Viper V4 Pro gaming mouse and it looks like a nice upgrade

The Razer Viper V3 Pro is easily one of the more popular gaming mice around – in fact it’s the most popular if you’re looking specifically at eSports players – so today’s announcement of the new Viper V4 Pro is kind of a big deal.

Razer looks to be taking a pretty safe, but compelling approach with this one, offering an upgraded model that doesn’t mess too much with what folks love about its predecessor but marginally pushes things forward in the spots that matter.

The big ticket talking points include an upgraded sensor with Razer’s Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3 (very nice word salad, there) touting up to 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS, and 90 G acceleration – up from 35,000 DPI, 750 IPS and 70 G on the V3 – along with Frame Sync which promises to sync up the Viper V4 Pro’s sensor with its scanning and polling cycle to make it even more precise and efficient.

There’s also updated HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 connectivity with true 8,000 Hz polling in both wired and wireless modes, and a super efficient 180 hours rated battery life in 1,000 Hz mode, which is a massive jump from the V3 at up to 95 hours.

On the build side of things, expect Gen-4 Razer Optical Mouse Switches, Optical Scroll Wheel and an even lighter form factor at 49g (black) or 50 g (white), which is around 9% lighter than the Viper V3 Pro.

Here’s what the Razer Viper V4 Pro will set you back:

Along with this, Razer has also announced a new product in its line of Gigantus gaming mouse mats, the Gigantus V2 Pro.

Now, I’m not normally one to get too excited about some expensive rubber in a square shape, but there’s actually some cool stuff going on here. Firstly, there are actually five different core variants of the Gigantus V2 Pro depending on what kind of speed and experience you want. And while the overall visual design is black rubber square across the board, they all have their own colour-coded tag that I think looks like a neat little flourish for the desk.

Here’s the purchase info for those:

As a big fan of Razer’s modern product line-up, I’m keen to check these out for myself, so stick around and we’ll hopefully be able to test these and give you a verdict soon enough!
