stranger than heaven key art

An ‘in-depth’ look at RGG Studio’s Stranger Than Heaven is coming this week

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the publisher and developer behind the beloved Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise, is getting ready to show off what’s being called an ‘in-depth’ look at its upcoming game, Stranger Than Heaven. The new showing has been promised as part of an upcoming Partner Preview showcase hosted by Xbox, which happens on Thursday, March 26 at 10AM PDT.

If you missed earlier announcements, Stranger Than Heaven is a new original IP from the studio, not attached to the Like a Dragon series but, at least from early glimpses, closely aligned in its overall concept and style. It’ll follow protagonist Mako Daito through at least three different time periods – 1915, 1929 and 1943 – in Osaka, Japan. Specifically in Sotenbori, which happens to be the same fictional version of Dotenbori, Osaka, that exists in the Like a Dragon games. So there’s that.

New social media accounts for Stranger than Heaven have also been launched, which you can find below and which have posted the very striking new key art you see above.

Here’s one of the most recent teaser trailers for the game:

While this new look at the game is nestled within an Xbox event, we expect other platform parties to be sharing the same news should there be a release of new trailers, release dates or anything similar. So if you’re keen to check it all out as it happens, the info for the showcase is below, but otherwise keep an eye out elsewhere (including right here!) for more info on Stranger Than Heaven.
