Razer has just launched an update to one of its most critically-backed and trusted desktop microphones, the Seiren V3 Chroma. Already a standout choice for those wanting good looks and great audio quality at a relatively approachable price tag, the new version comes in slightly cheaper than before but also packs some neat upgrades along with it.
Dubbed the Seiren V3 Chroma 32-Bit DSP, the name might be a bit of a mouthful but it’s representative of the most significant difference in this new model, a dedicated onboard 32-bit DSP (Digital Signal Processor). What this means in the simplest terms is the mic is equipped with new hardware to process your audio input in real-time and weed out clipping, background noise, room reverb and so on, and automatically compress and equalise your voice to make it broadcast-ready before it even hits your PC.
Essentially, it aims to take a lot of the guesswork and post-production out of recording or streaming your voice, and make it immensely faster and easier to put together a recording setup that works for your space. It’s pretty much plug-and-play and let the Seiren do the rest.
The new model retains the same look and Chroma RGB features of the existing Seiren V3 Chroma, but does also integrate some new dial and touch-sensor customisation through the Razer Synapse software, which is handy.
The Seiren V3 Chroma 32-Bit DSP is available through Razer.com and participating retailers now for an RRP of $199.95 AUD / $259.95 NZD (for the black version) and $219.95 AUD / $269.95 NZD (for the quartz or white versions).
