It’s unfortunately been the subject of plenty of leaks at this point, but PlayStation and LEGO have now officially unveiled LEGO 72306 PlayStation set at the September 2026 State of Play.
Launching on October 1, 2026 (for LEGO Insiders, otherwise October 4 for everyone else) at a price of USD $179.99 / AU $279.99 / £139.99, the LEGO PS1 is a 1,911-piece beauty that comes in at a near-1:1 scale with the original, boxy PlayStation console. It features a heap of great printed elements to wonderfully recreate the look of the machine, down to the controller – which is based on the first, pre-DualShock iteration sans analogue sticks.
Everything is represented here from the memory card slots and controller ports, which the single brick-built pad does plug into, to the side grilles and rear connectors. After the scaled-down LEGO SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive, it’s nice to go back to something closer to the fantastic LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System in terms of real-world comparison. What’s additional and unique about this set is that the sides of the PlayStation pull out to reveal tiny Ape Escape and Gran Turismo dioramas, which can also be seen by opening the top lid of the console.
