Pokemon Pokopia‘s first timed event is here, and in More Spores for Hoppip! not only will you have the opportunity to bring three new Pokémon into your community, but you’ll nab a bunch of cute new decorations along the way!
Take a look at our guide below to get the low-down on everything you need to know about the event, including when to access it, how to get Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff into your game, and find the Cotton Spores for Hoppip’s shop.
More Spores for Hoppip! – Event dates and times
The More Spores for Hoppip! event kicks off on March 10 at 5AM and ends on March 25 at 4:59AM based on the local time on your Switch 2 console.
This means that you should be able to access the event even outside the listed dates, if you were to change the time on your system, though we wouldn’t recommend messing around with this too much as it could cause problems for this and other games that rely on the system clock. Proceed with caution!
How to start the event
During the set times for the More Spores for Hoppip! event, all you need to do is have already restored the first Pokémon Centre in Withered Wasteland. This will cause the game to alert you to the presence of a special Pokémon in the area when you boot up the game, and Hoppip will appear.
If you’ve since restored Pokémon Centres in other areas, Hoppip can also appear at those, instead.
Once you’ve met Hoppip and it sets up in your Pokémon Centre/s, it’ll have a variety of decoration items to sell you, but instead of coins you’ll be asked to pay in Cotton Spores. These are the items that Hoppip sells and their cost in spores (left to right in the image):

- Dandy flower seeds – 5 cotton spore clusters
- Flower table setting – 10 cotton spore clusters
- Flower table – 10 cotton spore clusters
- Flower cushion – 10 cotton spore clusters
- Picnic blanket – 15 cotton spore clusters
- Hoppip water bottle – 5 cotton spore clusters
- Lunch box – 5 cotton spore clusters
- Juice trio – 5 cotton spore clusters
- Flower backpack – 5 cotton spore clusters
- Flower garland – 5 cotton spore clusters
Finding cotton spores for Hoppip in Pokémon Pokopia
Cotton Spores can only be found in Dream Islands, the faraway locations that you can only get to with the help of Drifloon. Once you ask Drifloon to take you to a Dream Island, you’ll see the spores laying about everywhere, ready for you to collect and bring back to trade with Hoppip!
Make sure you take the time to fully explore whichever Dream Islands you land on, as there should be dozens of spores to find on each, and you’ll want to be able to buy Hoppip’s wares in order to complete the rest of the event.

They look like this!
If you need help locating Drifloon and getting to the Dream Islands, here are the steps for that:
Finding Drifloon and accessing Dream Islands in Pokémon Pokopia
- Drifloon will be hanging around the beach area on the West side of Withered Wasteland, as soon as you are able to smash through the wall (or just climb over the cliffs). Talk to Drifloon, and it’ll ask you to build its habitat.
- To build Drifloon’s Riding Warm Updrafts habitat, you’ll need to craft three campfires at your workbench, place them all in a line wherever you’d like Drifloon to stay, and then have Charmander light them
- Once that’s done, Drifloon will ask you for a doll. You can find these as decorations laying around in some existing houses, as prizes from red Poké Balls or glowing blocks, or buy them from the coin shop at a PC. Talk to Drifloon again with a doll in your inventory and you’ll finish the request and unlock Dream Islands
- From now on, putting a doll on the ground and interacting it will summon Drifloon to take you to a Dream Island based on the type of doll you used!
How to attract Skiploom and Jumpluff during the More Spores for Hoppip! event
The final component of the More Spores for Hoppip! event is attracting all of the Pokemon to come and stay in your world. To do this, you’ll need three habitats – one each for Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff.
You can figure these out by experimenting with the decorations you’ve bought from Hoppip, or by finding the glowing habitat clues that should pop up as you attempt to, but if you’d rather just know right away here’s what you’ll need to put together:
More Spores for Hoppip! event habitats
Yellow Carpet (001)
To make: Place 4x Dandy Flowers next to each other
Potential Pokémon: Hoppip (Common), Skiploom (Rare), Jumpluff (Very Rare)
Field-trip Friends (002)
To make: Place 1x Flower Backpack, 1x Hoppip Water Bottle and 1x Lunch Box
Potential Pokémon: Skiploom (Common)
Dandelion lunchtime (003)
To make: Place 1x Dandy Flowers, 1x Lunch Box, 1x Flower Cushion and 1x Flower Table Setting
Potential Pokémon: Jumpluff (Rare)
As you can probably see from the above, the best thing to do for your chances at getting all three, especially Jumpluff is to make all three of these habitats. You may need some patience for the last one, but you shouldn’t have much trouble.
And that’s it! Hopefully you’ve learned everything you need to make the most of the More Spores for Hoppip! event in Pokemon Pokopia. Make sure to check back with us over time as more events come to the game!
