Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition

Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition has been rated in Korea

It looks like SEGA may be gearing up to release a repackaged version of 2022’s somewhat well-received Sonic Frontiers, if a new rating that’s been spotted on the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea is any indication – and it usually is.

Spotted by Gematsu, the rating was handed down in February 2026 but just published today, among a broader list including plenty of already-announced or released games like Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, Forza Horizon 6 and Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive
Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
.

It’s not entirely clear what this new version of the game might include, whether there’s anything completely new or it’s simply a collection of the base game and all of the post-launch content that’s released since. Sonic Frontiers is already available on all major platforms aside from the Switch 2, so we may even see a native SKU for Nintendo’s new flagship as part of this.

SEGA had sold almost 5 million copies of Sonic Frontiers when it reported numbers mid-last year, and the game currently holds a Metacritic average rating of 7/10 from critics and 8.1/10 from user reviews.

In other recent Sonic news, we’re soon to see the arrival of a trio of iconic SEGA characters in a string of free updates for the excellent Sonic Racing: Crossworlds.
