How’s this – it seems that someone has spotted at least part of a set from Alex Garland (Annihilation, Civil War) and A24‘s upcoming movie based on FromSoftware‘s RPG epic, Elden Ring.
The find has been doing the rounds on TikTok and Reddit in the form of a few seconds of video, seemingly originating from ThroxTV on TikTok, who appears to be based in the UK. There’s no mention of where this was found, and while it certainly doesn’t appear to be an AI-generated hoax, there’s nothing yet to back it up.
It certainly looks the part though, with the architecture and statue immediately recognisable as a Church of Marika from within the game. It’s an odd sight, very loosely fenced off in the middle of an otherwise vacant, green field, but the actual detail in the reconstruction is quite convincing and naturally has commenters feeling positive about the film’s potential authenticity. You can even spot one of the tall pylons that you’d usually see unfortunate souls hanging – and screaming – from around Limgrave.
Here are some quick comparison images using in-game screenshots from TorbiTorb at the Elden Ring Fandom wiki and the (admittedly low-res) footage of the purported film set available:

The Elden Ring movie was announced last year, with Garland attached to write and direct while A24 and Bandai Namco back the production. We really haven’t heard much about it since the initial announcement, so the idea of filming being (somewhat) quietly underway is potentially great news.
While the idea of a live-action Elden Ring might sound dicey for a game as revered and visually distinct as this, if one random piece of set work sitting out in the middle of a field can have fans this elated already, perhaps we’re about to get the best video game to film adaptation since Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
What do you think of this set footage? If real, is this what you’d hoped to see? Let us know in the comments or on our social pages!
