These are the June 2026 video game releases we’re most excited for

We’re already five full months into 2026, and rapidly approaching the halfway-point of the year. With PlayStation State of Play and Summer Game Fest right around the corner, there’s a lot to look forward to in June 2026 before we even get to the new game releases – but there are still plenty of those, as well!

We’re only just getting over the launch of the excellent 007 First Light, but coming to us in the month ahead is quite the eclectic collection of new things to get into. Switch owners get to kick off the month with a couple of new ports including Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which comes to Switch 2 (and Xbox and PC), along with the long-requested Donkey Kong 64 finally headed to Nintendo Switch Online. Then all the way at the end, a big-ticket remake with Star Fox launching on June 25 exclusively on Switch 2.

A few brand-new joints worth looking at as well, including a trio of potential indie darlings in Beastro, Denshattack!, and Dark Scrolls, plus Square Enix coming in with a new HD-2D title, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. You can already download a playable demo of that one, if you please.
