God of War Laufey pre-orders have gone live alongside a new gameplay and screenshots

PlayStation has today dropped pre-orders for one of its big, upcoming releases for 2027 – God of War Laufey, which launches on February 16, 2027.

Players can pre-order the game right now either digitally via the PlayStation Store or physically via their favourite retailer, with a PlayStation Store exclusive Digital Deluxe Edition also available.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Santa Monica Studio has also dropped some fresh details around Faye’s combat prowess in the game, alongside some new short gameplay clips and a scant few new screenshots.

The clips and info introduce Faye’s Serpent Bow, which augments both her close-quarters and ranged combat thanks to lightning-fast draws with hip firing and location-based impacts on enemies when using a precision aim mode.

Players can also expect to customise the Serpent Bow along with Faye’s sword, armour and abilities to further develop her combat abilities and express her power in new ways.

Perhaps most interesting, though, is one of the screenshots that Santa Monica Studio says showcases the otherwordly, afterlife realm of the Everwhen. Here, we see Faye face-to-face with none other than her surviving husband, Kratos. What’s more is that the two seem to be standing in Ancient Greece as seen in the original God of War games, which is sure to be an exciting proposition for long-time fans. Given we’re purportedly looking at a mystical realm beyond the one that Kratos actually occupies, it seems unlikely we’re looking at the actual Greece or will see significant scenes there, but Santa Monica is most certainly teasing us with something.
