PlayStation is bringing back transparent controllers and consoles with the Prism Collection

PlayStation has been going all-in on the world of physical lately… well, physical hardware. The company has been pumping out limited edition PlayStation gear like nobody’s business this year, and still has plenty to come with the likes of the Grand Theft Auto VI Limited Edition DualSense controllers, the LISA x PlayStation collection and the Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense controller.

This next release, though, channels more of the PS5 original accessory catalogue with a trio of new DualSense controller and PS5 console cover colourways, much like the neon-soaked Hyperpop Collection that launched earlier this year.

Dubbed the Prism Collection, what we have here is something that fans have been begging the company to do for years at this point – transparent PlayStation gear. These three new designs bring transparent, beautifully-hued plastic to both the PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller and the PS5 Console Cover in either Flame Orange, Emerald Green or Graphite Grey.

Fans will be able to see the inner workings of their DualSense through a clear, high-gloss finish that’s complemented nicely by a metallic finish on the middle section of the controller. They scrub up incredible in photos, with a distinctly premium look that you might not expect from something that harks back to the transparent tech of the 90s. The console covers offer something similar, with transparent top sections and opaque bottoms sections with that same metallic finish.

The Prism Collection launches next year on February 4, 2027, with the controllers priced at AUD $134.95 and the PS5 console covers at AUD $119.95. Pre-orders will kick off much sooner though, on November 10, 2026 at 10AM local time. Globally, it’ll be available through PlayStation Direct and select retailers, and here in Australia we can expect to see it at the usual shops – JB Hi-Fi, EB Games, Gamesmen and so on. We’ll update with more info when pre-orders go live!
