Apple has kicked off an App Store initiative it calls Indie Games Week this week, highlighting a group of high-profile indie video games that are either making their debut on the company’s mobile devices or will be in the very near future.
This campaign puts a spotlight on a total of seven games, each delivering a unique and critically-acclaimed experience that iPhone and iPad users shouldn’t miss. All week long, the App Store will be spotlighting one of these games on the front page, along with a general curation of all applicable titles. Those titles are Sifu, Vampire Crawlers, 9 Kings, Little Kitty Big City, No Man’s Sky, Dome Keeper and Yes, Your Grace 2: Snowfall.
Sifu, which is available now, and No Man’s Sky, coming October 28, are both especially interesting launches that put complex martial arts simulations and incredibly complex space-faring and survival simulations in the palm of your hand with both touch and physical control options.

“Indie games are constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity to deliver unique gameplay experiences to Apple users, and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate these games and the teams that take creative risks to push gaming forward,” writes Carson Oliver, Apple’s head of App Store Worldwide, in a press release. “Whether from a solo developer or a growing studio, the App Store gives bold ideas a global stage — turning daring visions into worldwide hits. We’re thrilled with the incredible games launching on the App Store this week and amazed by their breathtaking artistry, brilliant design, and deeply moving stories.”
