Start booking those flights, Final Fantasy fans, because Square Enix has announced a massive Final Fantasy 40th Anniversary exhibit running at the Tokyo National Museum between Friday, January 8 and Sunday, April 4, 2027.
The exhibition – titled Neverending Journeys – promises to “transport guests through the history of Final Fantasy,” showcasing images and music from the series along with a number of interactive displays, and even a collaboration with the Tokyo National Museum’s own collection of cultural properties. There will, of course, be things to see and experience from across the series’ four decades of history, but fans can also expect special attention paid to Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold and Final Fantasy VII Revelation, both of which launch in early 2027.
The exhibit will take place inside the Tokyo National Museum’s Hyokeikan, an historic site built to commemorate the 1900 wedding of Crown Prince Yoshihito and Sadako Kujo, with Western architectural influences that should make it a great site for a celebration of Final Fantasy.
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale starting September 24, 2026, with information on ticket availability for those living outside of Japan still to be announced.
