Strange Scaffold, the consistent conjurors of creepy-cool indie bangers are back at it again with Something is Wrong with the Library – a spooky take on the hugely-popular organisation sim craze that’s catapulted games like Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! and Megastore: Tidy Up Together to the stratosphere.
The twist here is, in true Strange Scaffold fashion, a more narrative-focused experience that’s also a little unsettling and weird, and in which players must use their organisation skills to clean up a haunted local library over the course of one very tense night. You see, it’s not just loosely-strewn books and shelves in disarray that are the problem here. The walls are also lined with the bodies of your town’s deceased homeless population. Uh oh.
Expect themes of gentrification, economic and social inequality, governmental complicity and (hopefully) something to do with books, when Something is Wrong with the Library launches for PC later this year.
