PlayStation just dropped over 60 minutes of new trailers and reveals in its mammoth State of Play showcase for June 2026, bringing with it some exciting new looks from first and third-party studios – including the premiere announcement of the next God of War.
Here’s everything we just saw in that packed hour!
PlayStation State of Play June 2026 – Every announcement and trailer
God of War Laufey takes us to a cubist hellscape
And here it is, the big one. Santa Monica Studio has been hard at work on a new God of War, and this time we’re playing as Faye, a warrior giant and mother to Atreus. She can jump real good, and there’s a talking, gelatinous cube named Frank, just in case you thought this wasn’t going to be a Video Game. Coming… soon!
Marvel’s Wolverine with an extended gameplay trailer
Insomniac brought a lengthy new gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, showing off a heap of brutal combat and action-packed set pieces. Fights look visceral, and bloody, and thanks to Logan’s particular powerset you’ll get to see him take a ton of gnarly-looking damage and keep coming back for more. The trailer also reveals some familiar faces, so take a look:
Knights of Doom join Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
The fourth team for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been revealed as Knights of Doom, comprised of Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin and Carnage. Just one more team reveal left to go! Marvel Tōkon launches on August 6, 2026 for PS5 and PC.
Rayman Legends Retold is a… retelling… of Rayman Legends!
Did this already-excellent and perfectly playable game need a do-over? Absolutely not. Will I be going completely feral for it? Yes. Yes, I will. New stages, lush 3D visuals, Grant Kirkhope on the score and fully-voiced cutscenes all promise to make this one even more special. Rayman Legends Retold launches on August 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis gets a new 2027 release date
Lara Croft is back, which is a statement that will seemingly never not be true. But this time she’s come from all the way back in 1996 to placate the masses demanding the series return to its roots, or something. It’s a reimagining of the original game! Which should be interesting enough. And it’s been pushed back out of this year, now due on February 12, 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.
Bancho the Chef gets his own game
A fan-favourite Dave the Diver character gets his own starring role in a culinary adventure across Japan, Korea, China, and other Asian regions in a prequel story set all the way back in 2004 (remember 2004??). Bancho the Chef will come to consoles and PC in the future.
Kemuri looks slick as hell
The delightful Ikumi Nakamura is back with her new studio, Unseen, and with a first look at Kemuri, a yokai-possessing action game playable in up to three-player online co-op. Play as one of the distinct Hunter classes, use your abilities to reveal and challenge yokai, then make a contract and use their powers as your own. Hell yeah. This one’s slated for 2027.
The Lost Wild is no longer lost
It’s been a few year since this was first revealed, but with the backing of Annapurna Interactive, The Lost Wild will finally be unleashed in 2027, and it’s about as close to Dino Crisis as anyone is going to get in this economy.
Phantom Blade Zero gets a trailer for more trailers, and a delay
Phantom Blade Zero has made another appearance, mostly to tell us that it still exists and will be making more appearances soon! Also, the game has been delayed from September 9, 2026 to a new release date of October 29, 2026.
Dune: Awakening is a-make-ening its way to consoles
Come September 22nd, console folks will finally be able to get their hands around Dune: Awakening, and it’ll also feature a brand new single-player mode, new story content, updates and improvements, and presumably lots of sand!
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered says “Don’t have a Cow Cow, man!”
I can only assume they’re doing this because they ran out of numbers for new games, but I do appreciate that we’re keeping the hilarious translations. October 1, 2026 for this one, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and Steam.
No Rest for the Wicked gets a 1.0 release, hopefully some rest
Moon Studios’ Souls-ish action RPG is finally approaching its full, 1.0 release, which means it’s also headed to consoles, and it’s all happening in October 2026.
Now you, too, can play Onimusha: Way of the Sword!
Capcom has dropped a free, playable demo for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and also announced the release date of September 25, 2026. I played the demo last year at Tokyo Game Show and wasn’t totally terrible at it, so I’m excited to see if that holds up.
Silent Hill: Townfall has defogged its release date
Yeah, I couldn’t think of a better tagline, sorry. Silent Hill: Townfall is coming on September 24, 2026 to PS5 and PC, and I’m feeling pretty optimistic about this one. After the decent Silent Hill F and with Screen Burn and Annapurna involved, we could be getting the goods.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve has set a date for launch
We’re getting space elevator in 2026. October 2, 2026, to be exact. For PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Stuntman: Hollywood revives a series I thought had crashed and burned
I hope this one is also ridiculously difficult. Who had a Stuntman revival on their bingo cards? And one with a bunch of iconic, licensed movie cars in its roster. Very curious to see how this turns out.
ILL looks sick
Hehe, yeah I’m happy with that tagline. Mundfish Powerhouse, a publishing venture from the folks behind Atomic Heart, along with developer Team Clout, are working on this absolutely gnarly-looking survival horror game. Coming in 2027. Watch at your peril:
Control Resonant has sounded out a release date
Are these taglines getting better or worse? I can’t tell. It’s still somewhat early here in Australia. Anyway, very excited about this one. I’m still entirely unsure what to make of the story here, and this new “Story Trailer” hasn’t helped all that much. But it looks cool as hell, and the game is officially launching on September 25, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC!
Until Dawn 2? Not Until Dusk?
They tried to keep it from us, but it was clear very early on in the debut trailer that this was a new Until Dawn. And we’re looking at a change in season, which is nice! Summer Game Fest, indeed. Also, note to self: Don’t push Luke. Coming in 2027!
