After copious rumours and speculation, Nintendo has finally confirmed that a big, new Nintendo Direct showcase for June 2026 is indeed happening. And very soon!
The Direct is set to kick off in just 24 hours, which will be either June 9, 2026 or June 10, 2026, depending on where you are in the world.
We have no indication of what might appear at this, the first “proper” Nintendo Direct since September last year, but with the Switch 2’s future slate of first-party releases looking quite slim at the moment we’d imagine this will be the company’s opportunity to announce some heavy hitters. We do know that the show will run for approximately 50 minutes, and will be followed by a 95-minute Nintendo Treehouse stream.
Rumours tied to early “leaks” of the existence of Star Fox, which turned out to be very real (we’ve played it!), also suggested that a remake of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time is impending. We’d be equally happy with a new mainline 3D Mario game, or even something from the big man himself, Wario.
